Job Title: Principal Policy Analyst - Aboriginal Engagement

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Policy Analyst to join our team in the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety. As a key member of our Energy Policy Group, you will play a critical role in shaping the energy sector for the benefit of Western Australians.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse and inclusive team, committed to building strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. You will be responsible for facilitating, guiding, and supporting statewide on-Country engagement, building authentic, respectful two-way partnerships that are place-based and collaborative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and programs that deliver meaningful and lasting benefits from the energy transition.
  • Work closely with Traditional Owner groups and local communities to enhance policies and programs.
  • Provide high-quality policy advice and support to the Energy Policy Group.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in policy development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
  • A valid working visa or Australian citizenship.
