  • Ensure highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence in tailings storage facility management across all phases of their lifecycle.

This site-based role involves collaborating with the Group tailings team and external consultants to govern and technically oversee tailings facilities. As a Technical Specialist, you will:

  • Support the Processing Manager and Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer with practical aspects of tailings management.
  • Facilitate direct support in implementing strategies, executing plans, and resolving challenges related to daily operational management of tailings storage facilities.
  • Conduct routine and emergency inspections and oversee surveillance and monitoring to align with design intent and performance objectives.

To contribute to the team, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in project, civil or geotechnical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM).
  • Practical knowledge of IT engineering systems that analyse slope stability, seepage, hydraulic modelling, and deposition modelling.

Proven problem-solving skills and analytical thinking are essential for this role. Your experience in Tailings Management, coupled with your ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, will enable you to make a positive impact.
