We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our capital works portfolio and drive the delivery of our capital projects. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all building and major capital projects are adequately resourced, scoped, planned, and prioritized, aligning with our policies, procedures, and governance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the capital works team and ensure the delivery of the capital works program
- Develop and implement strategies to improve the capability and capacity of the project delivery teams
- Provide strategic advice to Council executives and elected representatives on capital works matters
- Work with the community and other key stakeholders to ensure that their input is considered in the planning, design, and delivery of capital projects
- Ensure that all capital projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Strong technical background in capital works, with particular emphasis on project management
- Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and build productive relationships
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage complex contracts
- Ability to effectively navigate the current construction climate, including contractor engagement, material shortages, and cost escalations
- Formal qualification in engineering, architecture, construction, project management, or related field
