Caseworker Role

About the Position:

Our organization is seeking a skilled Caseworker to work with children and families in the Northern Territory. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with families to achieve positive outcomes for children's safety, permanency, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children and families, conducting assessments and creating individualized care plans that cater to their unique needs.
  • Collaborate with families to implement strategies for achieving positive outcomes, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
  • Provide information and resources to families about available support services, educational opportunities, and community programs that can enhance their lives.
  • Uphold and integrate Indigenous cultural practices, values, and traditions into service delivery, ensuring cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of Indigenous and non-Indigenous children and families within the broader community and with relevant agencies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma in Community Services or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous casework experience, preferably within child and family services, demonstrating a strong understanding of the sector.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Ability to build rapport with people from all backgrounds, fostering trust and respect.
  • Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check with no reportable outcomes, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Full driver's license, facilitating travel to remote areas.
