We are seeking a highly connected and compelling performance programmer to bring cross-generational, satirical and primary school shows into our festival. This position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced programmer to design experiences that connect parents, kids and grandparents with wonder.

Job Overview

This role requires a well-connected and experienced programmer with at least 8 years experience in presenting performance-based work in traditional and non-traditional spaces.

Main Responsibilities
  • Program Design: Design programs that engage intergenerational audiences, especially children and parents.
  • Panel Collaboration: Work with a programming panel to create a high-quality festival program.
  • Partnerships: Foster lasting partnerships with performers, venues and grant applicants.
Key Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years experience curating or producing performance-based work, particularly for festivals or large-scale cultural programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to design programs that engage intergenerational audiences, especially children and parents.
  • A strong network of performers and performance companies, with experience negotiating and contracting talent.
Benefits and Working Arrangements
  • The position is project-based, requiring 100-200 hours of work, mostly at times chosen by the candidate.
  • Weekly daytime and/or evening meetings will be held from September to December, with occasional check-ins once the program is finalised.
