Electrical Foreman - Africa

We are actively seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to join our operations on a 6-week on, 4-week off roster in Africa.

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and knowledge:

  • Minimum 10 years as an Underground electrician
  • Minimum 5 years as an Underground electrical supervisor
  • Sound knowledge of Australian standards relevant to underground mining electrical systems
  • Sound knowledge of maintaining electrical management systems
  • Solid understanding of WHS requirements
  • Proficient computer skills

This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring the effective transfer of skills and knowledge to national electrical personnel in HV preventative, scheduled, and breakdown maintenance at the mine site, with all work performed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Support site leadership in implementing safety systems and initiatives to improve electrical safety performance.
  2. Review site working areas for compliance with relevant Acts, Regulations, policies, procedures, work instructions, and standards.
  3. Undertake visual leadership interactions.
  4. Assist with planning for site electrical teams.
  5. Coordinate with Project Management and Electrical Manager regarding non-compliance or safety issues.
  6. Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.

Required Qualifications and Training:

  • Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Unrestricted Electrical License
  • Electrical Nominee Qualifications
  • High Voltage Operations Certificate
  • First Aid Qualifications

A full pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and site-specific clearances, is required. A National Police Clearance, along with any necessary tickets or qualifications, must be presented at interview. Please note that a range of vaccinations is required when working in Africa.
