We are actively seeking Experienced Underground Auto Electricians to join us in our African Operations on a 6 week on, 3 weeks off roster.

The role emphasizes developing the skills and knowledge of local workers through sharing your experience and being a role model. Candidates should possess energy, resilience, determination, and a genuine interest in working with diverse cultures.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out scheduled servicing of mobile equipment safely and according to procedures, regulations, and service sheets.
  2. Utilize your skills to minimize machinery downtime.
  3. Ensure accurate recording and reporting of maintenance activities.
  4. Maintain high standards of housekeeping in workshops and work areas, keeping parts stock levels minimal.
  5. Read and interpret service and spare parts manuals.
  6. Report all equipment faults to the Maintenance Foreman for scheduling repairs.
Minimum Requirements: Essential:
  • Strong commitment to safety and proactive safety practices.
  • Knowledge of Sandvik U/G Development/Production Drills and Loaders.
  • Experience with Caterpillar Underground Loaders.
  • Knowledge of remote control systems (RCT or Sandvik).
  • Experience training less qualified tradespeople in high productivity underground mining environments.
  • Experience with latest generation underground mobile equipment and automation systems.
  • Minimum 5 years post-apprenticeship experience in surface or underground mining with large mobile equipment.
  • Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent maintenance and service approach.
  • International Driver's License.
