This role involves working as an Aboriginal Health Worker in a rural health service that supports pregnant women and their families throughout the antenatal and postnatal journey.
Main Responsibilities- Coordinate appointments with midwives to provide culturally safe and supportive care to women and families.
- Offer cultural support, arrange or participate in community events, and join home visits with midwives to provide care during the antenatal and postnatal period.
- Advocate for families, make referrals to NGOs and health support services, and promote health education through storytelling and visual aids.
- Holds or aspires to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a minimum Certificate III health qualification in the area of care in which the Aboriginal Health Worker works.
- Eligible to drive in NSW and the ability to travel as required.
