Job Title: LWU Emergency Management Officer

WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Emergency Management Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Dam Safety Emergency Management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our dams and waterways.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating the development and implementation of dam safety emergency preparedness and response plans for Local Water Utilities (LWUs)
  • Reviewing and updating dam emergency plans for LWUs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Designing and facilitating dam safety emergency exercises for LWUs
  • Assisting the WaterNSW Dam Safety Emergency Management team in delivering activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conducting activities in support of WaterNSW Incident Management Teams during real-world responses to incidents and emergencies
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in emergency management or a related field and/or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment and/or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Experience in emergency and incident management and/or business continuity management
  • Knowledge of current federal and state laws, ordinances, regulations, established procedures, approved principles, practices, and organization of emergency management and business continuity work
  • Knowledge of Incident Management Systems and relevant incident command procedures and methods
