Food Safety and Quality Operations Director

This role involves managing food safety and quality systems at our site. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of a team and report directly to the GM Food Safety.
Responsibilities:
- Manage tasks and coordinate activities to ensure site food safety and quality outcomes are met for legislation, customer standards, and internal quality systems.
- Lead, coach, and nurture the Food Safety and Quality team.
- Promote a strong food safety culture onsite with full implementation of corporate expectations.
- Assess and communicate risks in food safety and quality and escalate where necessary.
- Implement Continuous Improvement Initiatives and support Change Management initiatives on site for food safety and quality.
- Maintain knowledge and implement the Food Safety and Quality Management System on a day-to-day basis.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Food science or Biotechnology or similar industry experience/qualification.
- Excellent working knowledge of HACCP and Quality/Risk Management Programmes.
- Extensive and relevant industry experience 10+ years/qualification preferably in animal protein.
- Ability to develop and maintain food safety and quality systems.
- Extensive People Management and Leadership Experience in senior roles.
- Business and Commercial Acumen.
- Well organized and able to work to agreed timelines with minimal supervision.
