About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bushfire Operations Officer to join our team at NRM. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procedures to enhance bushfire risk management programs in alignment with our organization's goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the review and enhancement of our Bushfire Risk Management Plan
  • Represent our organization on various committees and working groups related to bushfire management
  • Provide training on bushfire planning and management to internal stakeholders
  • Prepare environmental impact assessments and burn plans in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with community stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure effective bushfire management
  • Participate in Bushfire Hazard Reduction activities to mitigate risks

Requirements

  • Diploma in Environmental or Bushfire Management
  • Certifications in Public Safety, burn plan development, and chainsaw operation
  • Extensive experience in bushfire firefighting and hazard reduction burning
  • Proficiency in GIS software, MS Office suite, and the NSW Rural Fire Service Guardian application
  • Current Class C Driver's licence
