About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Mining Production and Development Manager to join our Mine Operations team at Hope Downs 1, located 100km north-west of Newman.

This is an exceptional opportunity for individuals who want to maximise the performance of operations through effective coordination and leadership.

You will undertake a range of support activities to assist the Supervisor's and enable them to lead the team in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety First: Demonstrate a commitment to safety by working and behaving in a manner that reflects Rio Tinto's values of Care, Courage, and Curiosity.
  • Leadership: Build and strengthen working relationships with team members and key stakeholders to foster a culture of shared knowledge and common processes.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure shift members and contractors understand and comply with HSE working procedures.
  • Talent Development: Assist in identifying training and development needs for team members and provide feedback to the Supervisor.
  • Performance Reviews: Assist the Supervisor to conduct performance reviews by providing input to team members' performance.
  • Acting Duties: Undertake acting duties when the Supervisor is absent and liaise with other departments and stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Task Allocation: Allocate tasks to crew members at the commencement of the shift in accordance to the daily plan, and throughout the shift in response to changes to work priorities.
  • Reporting and Handovers: Report on the performance of the shift and participate in handovers between shifts.

  • Statutory Position Legal Exam – Statutory Supervisor or enrolled to complete.
  • A current Australian 'C' class driver's license.

Estimated Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000 per annum
