Key Responsibilities:

Speechwriting Expertise

Craft engaging, informative and effective speeches for Australia's Chief Scientist that showcase their vision and expertise.

Strategic Communications Support

Develop presentations, remarks and video scripts that communicate complex ideas simply and effectively.

Media Relations Specialist

Identify and capitalize on media opportunities, engage with key stakeholders and manage media inquiries to promote the organization's work.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in speechwriting and/or journalism with a strong portfolio of work.
  • Exemplary writing skills with a flair for creativity and originality in communication.
  • Excellent judgement and attention to detail to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Demonstrated planning and organizational skills, including ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

Experience in media management, audio-visual production, or team leadership would be highly valued.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for employment in the Australian Public Service, applicants must be Australian citizens unless otherwise approved by the Agency Head.
