About the Role
Stantec is involved in some of Sydney's largest and exciting projects across various industries, including health, defence, commercial, land development, civil infrastructure, and transport.
We are seeking a Project Technical Lead/Team Lead to join our established and growing Structural team.
This rare opportunity will drive business growth through strategic marketing, client engagement, and consistent project delivery.
- Lead by example to build a high-performing team culture centered on development and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading project delivery from concept design through to construction, ensuring technical excellence.
- Playing a key role in business development and client engagement, including maintaining and expanding existing relationships.
- Identifying new opportunities and contributing to strategic planning and growth initiatives.
- Overseeing project financials, including fee proposals, resourcing, budgeting, and profitability.
- Managing and mentoring engineers and drafters within the team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Peer review of design work and documentation to ensure quality and compliance.
- Representing the business in client meetings, presentations, and industry forums.
- Contributing to the continual improvement of systems, processes, and design standards.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years' relevant project technical experience in the consulting or engineering industry.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Structural/Civil Engineering).
- CPEng/NER accreditation.
- Registered Design Practitioner or on pathway to achieve, highly desirable.
- Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing teams and/or projects.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships.
- A track record of driving business performance through technical and commercial contributions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on collaboration and influence.
