About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Buildings and Places group in Canberra. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality project outcomes across a range of market sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Mechanical design and project delivery for major client projects, including technical review and management of small project teams.
  • Utilize your extensive design experience to facilitate cost-effective project delivery on health, defence, government, transport, and other building projects.
  • Work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team to drive quality through review of design calculations, specifications, and drawings.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to provide technical advice on community and place-making defining projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree.
  • 5-10+ years' experience working for a Building Services consultancy.
  • Proven record in technical design and project delivery while maintaining and enhancing client relationships.
  • Necessary qualifications to obtain registration in the ACT and other jurisdictions (e.g. CPEng and/or NER credentials).
  • In-depth understanding of Building Services projects and Standards.
  • Experience in running multiple technical projects simultaneously with demonstrable design experience across various market sectors.
  • Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to mentor and train younger Engineers.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software including AutoCAD, Camel, Revit, and MS Office.
