Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced System Control Engineer to provide back-end engineering support for our Navantia Platform IPMS (Integrated Platform Management System) onboard Naval Vessels and within shore-based training facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing new software versions, maintaining up-to-date software and hardware configuration control, and performing root cause analysis and troubleshooting.

  • Install, configure, and test new software versions within the Through Life Support Facility (TLSF) in alignment with the requirements of supported platforms.
  • Maintain up-to-date software and hardware configuration control in the TLSF, including real, simulation, and playback software.
  • Configure the TLSF to support operational needs of our ships, ensuring full system compatibility and readiness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate engineering discipline – Electrical/Electronics or Mechatronics.
  • Experience using PLC and SCADA Software programming and/or activation and commissioning of Automation Systems.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical single line diagrams and cabling plans.
  • Ability to understand and apply relevant Australian Standards and IMO requirements.
  • High level of skill in Standard Computing Packages (MS Office, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
  • Ability to manage, prioritise and complete multiple tasks concurrently.
