
Explosives Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
The Explosives Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of Mobile Processing Units (MPUs) within the mining industry. This position requires an individual with a strong background in MPU operation or relevant blast crew experience, alongside a keen focus on safety, teamwork, and continuous learning.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Operating MPUs Safely and Effectively: Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and operational procedures when manufacturing and delivering bulk explosives.
- Conducting Pre-Start Checks: Perform thorough pre-start inspections and routine maintenance on MPU vehicles and associated equipment to guarantee optimal performance and safety.
- Quality Control and Documentation: Accurately mix and deliver explosives while maintaining precise records of operations and reporting any irregularities to supervisors.
- Collaborating with Blasting Teams: Work closely with shotfirers and other team members to load blast holes with precision, adhering strictly to safety and design standards.
Requirements:
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a valid NSW Security Clearance
- Possession of an open class manual driver's licence (HR licence desirable but not essential)
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a valid Order 43 Medical
- Relevant industry qualifications — RII competencies highly regarded
- National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one
