Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Support Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds who are experiencing harms related to alcohol and other drugs.
As a Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Support Worker, you will provide culturally safe and trauma-informed care to help young people achieve their goals and build positive connections in their community.
The role involves providing culturally sensitive outreach, engagement, and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, delivering alcohol and other drug interventions including assessment, brief intervention, counseling, and harm minimization strategies.
You will facilitate both group and individual sessions to support personal goals, resilience, and community connection, while also providing case management, referrals, and advocacy to address the holistic needs of young people.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and service providers will be central to your work, alongside contributing to treatment planning and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.
