About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Applied EV, a leading technology company in the field of autonomous electric vehicles. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware systems for our products, ensuring compliance with our system requirements and customer use cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of hardware systems, including component and sub-system design, applying knowledge of detailed design, material selection, and manufacturing techniques for low-volume manufacturing.
  • System Validation: Ensure the release of designs, support their manufacture/procurement, and validate both component and system level designs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with electrical and software engineering teams on safety-critical systems with human interaction, and collaborate with other engineering peers to design optimized solutions across entire systems.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor others, capture and share knowledge to assist in capability growth within the engineering teams.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering degree or equivalent experience, with 8+ years' experience as a Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineer in an automotive or related design role.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency with common engineering tools for CAD modeling, 2D and analysis, including CAD experience with Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and Sim solid experience.
  • Knowledge and Understanding: Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software, drafting procedures, and GD&T, as well as knowledge and understanding of prototype and low-volume production and manufacturing processes.
  • Soft Skills: Highly analytical mind, exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong written and oral communication skills.
