Mechanical Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical / Mechatronics Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Applied EV. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative hardware systems for our autonomous electric vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems, including components and sub-systems, to meet Applied EV's system requirements and customer use cases.
- Develop and maintain component timing plans, ensuring alignment with master program timing and escalating issues with proposed recovery proposals to mitigate overall program risk.
- Support the establishment and ongoing maintenance of internal design standards, including DFMEA and DFMA.
- Develop and release manufacturing and assembly drawings, as well as execute unit level component tests in collaboration with the Integration & Test team.
Requirements:
- A Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineering degree or equivalent experience with 8+ years' experience as a Mechanical / Mechatronics Engineer in an automotive or related design role.
- Experience with common engineering tools for CAD modelling, 2D and analysis, with a preference for Siemens NX, SolidWorks, and Sim solid experience.
- Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software and drafting procedures, with competency in GD&T.
- Knowledge and understanding of prototype and low volume production and manufacturing processes.
- Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to transpose customer level requirements and industry standards into design criteria for execution.
- Experience and understanding of Product Release Cycle from prototype to production, including key deliverables of each phase.
- Local and international collaboration from engineering design to component manufacturing.
