Engineering Leadership Role

This visionary engineering leadership position is an opportunity to shape the future of a world-class destination lifestyle precinct on the iconic Burleigh Beach.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of guests while safeguarding the owner's investment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advisory and support services to senior engineering management to meet strategic goals.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive preventative maintenance plans throughout the property to maintain high standards for a positive guest experience.
  • Manage the Maintenance Request System, analyzing frequent guest or property issues, timeliness of requests/jobs, and suggest improvements.
  • Delegate general repairs and maintenance to the property within the engineering team or contractors as required.
  • Champion resource management improvements and conservation practices.
  • Conduct regular testing of fire alarms, emergency lighting, etc., as required by local Council and Fire Service regulations.
  • Liaise closely with directors regarding contractors, controlling expenditure, and ensuring work meets company and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ensure cost-effective and hygienic removal of rubbish from the property areas and monitor for cleanliness.
  • Liaise effectively with front desk and housekeeping regarding 'down' rooms to expedite a quick turnaround.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Chief Engineer/Facilities Manager or similar role in a comparable industry sector.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems (Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, etc).
  • Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
  • Understanding of Australian Standards related to facilities management.
  • Experience in Body/Owners Corporation environments.
