About the Role

The Energy team plays a critical role in optimizing operational performance and supporting the organisation's sustainability commitments.

As commercial property faces evolving energy challenges and opportunities, the organisation continues to invest in analytical expertise and strategic capabilities to maintain its market leadership position.

This role offers the opportunity to work with large-scale commercial energy data and contribute to strategic energy decisions that impact major commercial properties nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse energy consumption patterns and performance across the commercial property portfolio
  • Monitor electricity and gas markets to identify cost optimisation and procurement opportunities
  • Prepare detailed energy reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations for senior management
  • Support energy procurement strategies including contract negotiations and market timing decisions
  • Analyse renewable energy opportunities including solar installations and power purchase agreements
  • Manage energy data systems and ensure accurate consumption tracking and reporting
  • Support sustainability initiatives and net zero planning across the property portfolio
  • Benchmark energy performance against industry standards and identify improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate with property managers on energy efficiency projects and operational improvements
  • Monitor regulatory changes and market developments affecting commercial energy users
  • Support budget planning and cost forecasting for energy expenditure across the portfolio
  • Collaborate with external consultants and energy suppliers on strategic initiatives
About the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills with specific experience in energy markets, consumption analysis, or commercial energy management.

Understanding of retail or commercial property operations and energy procurement processes are essential for success in this role.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience in energy analysis, market research, or commercial energy management
  • Strong understanding of Australian electricity and gas markets including pricing structures and procurement strategies
  • Experience with energy data analysis, consumption monitoring, and performance benchmarking
  • Knowledge of renewable energy solutions, energy efficiency measures, and sustainability initiatives
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools including Excel, Power BI, SQL, or similar platforms
  • Understanding of commercial energy contracts, tariff structures, and market mechanisms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to present complex analysis to senior stakeholders
  • Degree in Engineering, Economics, Finance, Environmental Science, or related analytical discipline
  • Experience with retail, commercial property, or facilities management beneficial
  • Understanding of energy market regulations and compliance requirements
  • Project management skills and ability to coordinate multiple initiatives
