Job Overview

Our organization is seeking a seasoned Production Manager to oversee night shift operations.

  • Coordinate and manage all production activities during the night shift, ensuring seamless execution of tasks and maintenance of high-quality products.
Responsibilities
  1. Production Operations
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct production activities, including room cleaning, product fills, and production handovers.
  • Develop and implement efficient material flow strategies across the site, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
  • Oversee waste management, traffic flow, and customer pickups, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
  • Ensure equipment readiness and correct placement of machinery before production, adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Lead and coach production staff, including operators, cleaners, and shift leads, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Manage rosters, approve timesheets, and ensure appropriate resourcing, guaranteeing optimal staffing levels.
  • Conduct onboarding, training, and regular performance check-ins, fostering growth and development among team members.
  1. Safety & Compliance
  • Drive compliance with WHS protocols and food safety procedures, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions, ensuring lessons learned are applied across the organization.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and ensure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), risk, and audit standards are met, preventing potential hazards and non-compliance.
  1. Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor quality outputs and investigate non-conformances, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Ensure production meets regulatory and food safety standards, adhering to industry best practices and guidelines.
  • Identify areas for improvement and contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, driving process optimization and efficiency gains.
  • Monitor shift-based expenses and contribute to cost control measures, optimizing resource allocation and reducing unnecessary expenditures.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and report operational performance to site leadership, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Participate in planning and CI discussions, fostering a collaborative environment that drives innovation and excellence.
  1. About You
  • Hold proven leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment, demonstrating expertise in operational management and staff development.
  • Possess a background in food, FMCG, fresh produce, or agriculture, understanding the nuances and challenges of these sectors.
  • Be comfortable managing night shift operations and early start times, adapting to changing schedules and demands.
  • Exhibit a strong grasp of compliance, safety, and quality standards, applying knowledge to drive operational excellence.
  • Display hands-on skills, adaptability, and calmness under pressure, effectively navigating complex situations and resolving conflicts.
  • Demonstrate confident communication and team-building skills, fostering collaboration and trust among team members.
