With a continued focus on innovation and new products, there is a need for an Electrical and Automation Engineer to help deliver optimisations across their key food manufacturing facility in Laverton, VIC.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the reliability and safe operation of all plant electrical, control and automation systems.
- Delivering and driving process developments and improvements, and taking the lead for control system maintenance/reliability related activities across the site.
- Scoping and planning for the electrical & automation component of capital works, and implementing process control, hardware and software improvements.
- Providing technical support and fault-finding expertise across the site.
- Maintaining and providing all required control system documentation, including schematics, manuals, parameters and layouts.
- Maintaining sufficient spare parts and equipment to cover all critical areas, and sourcing prospective suppliers for obsolete equipment.
Your Background
- Degree qualified in Mechatronics, Electrical or Automation Engineering.
- Proven experience working with high-speed automation equipment, ideally within food, beverage or dairy industries.
- Demonstrated experience with PLC systems such as Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley Rockwell automation systems.
- A sound understanding of Electrical Safety and regulatory requirements, including best practice outcomes.
- High-level problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organisation skills.
