Job Overview

This is a key role within Defence capability programs in Brisbane or Canberra. As a Senior Configuration Analyst, you will lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of Configuration Management processes and frameworks in alignment with Defence policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain CM processes and frameworks aligned with Defence policies and standards.
  • Manage Configuration Items (CIs) across the lifecycle, ensuring traceability, status accounting, and configuration audits.
  • Support engineering and program teams in identifying, controlling, and verifying system baselines and changes.
  • Maintain and enhance the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and associated registers.
  • Prepare and review CM documentation such as Configuration Management Plans (CMPs), change control records, and baseline reports.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior configuration analysts and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the CM function.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Information Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Configuration Management within a Defence or complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Defence standards, CM tools, and change management frameworks.
  • Proven ability to manage configuration control boards (CCBs), baseline reviews, and audits.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator able to work across disciplines and build stakeholder trust.
  • Australian Citizenship is essential for Defence security clearance requirements.
  • Current or active NV1 security clearance highly regarded.
