Job Overview

The role of Financial Accountant Leader is a critical position within the department, providing high-level support to senior management and stakeholders across financial reporting, governance, and statutory compliance.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise in preparing annual financial statements, ensuring adherence to statutory reporting legislation and accounting standards.
  • Manage monthly and annual financial reporting packages for submission to relevant authorities.
  • Oversee asset accounting and debtor management, ensuring accurate recognition, valuation, and disposal of assets in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Offer professional guidance and direction on financial accounting, reporting, and governance best practices.
  • Maintain and develop the department's financial accounting framework, including general ledger charts of accounts and related structures and processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the department's financial corporate governance framework to promote effective financial management.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders on financial accounting, reporting, and governance matters.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications with a major in accounting, CPA/CA qualifications highly regarded.
