Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Security Officer to join our professional Security Team at the Park Hyatt Sydney, a multi award-winning luxury hotel. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests and staff in accordance with Hyatt International brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency situations and liaise with law enforcement agencies.
  • Provide security support to all departments across the hotel, including responding to fire alarm activations and internal alarms.
  • Provide First Aid assistance and liaise with the NSW Ambulance service when required.
  • Conduct training regarding fire safety based on policy and procedure.
  • Investigate and report on incidents, and monitor CCTV and internal alarms.
  • Provide VIP security, including support to protection officers and their associates.
  • Manage high-profile event security, including major shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and experience in Security Operations, Security & Risk Management, and Work Health & Safety.
  • Experience in security within a five-star hotel or similar operation providing a high standard of service.
  • Ability to implement and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant Acts, Regulations, and Codes of Practice.
  • Open-minded, confident individual with a positive calm demeanor, and a goal-setter and natural communicator.
  • Ability to keep calm and problem-solve under pressure, both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Availability to work set weekly shifts with flexibility based on business demands and public holidays.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Australian and New South Wales legislation relating to security and licensed venues.
  • Demonstrated experience and problem-solving skills in relation to crowd control, conflict resolution, de-escalation techniques, and access control.
  • Current First Aid Certificate, including up-to-date annual CPR.
