Job Opportunity for Senior Medical Practitioner

This is an excellent chance to work in a dynamic and supportive team providing specialist services and clinical leadership.

We are seeking a registered medical practitioner with recognised specialist qualifications and experience in child abuse and neglect, sexual assault or domestic violence.

  • Provide high-quality diagnostic and consultative specialty medical and forensic services.
  • Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Violence, Abuse and Neglect (VAN) Service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the organisation and delivery of quality medical and forensic services.
  • Recruit medical and forensic examiners and facilitate training, supervision and professional development of the Medical Forensic team.
  • Access to clinical support time to undertake appropriate non-clinical duties and further their professional development and personal goals.
Requirements:
  • Registered Medical Practitioner with recognised specialist qualifications such as Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners.
  • Appropriate knowledge and clinical experience to practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner in child abuse and neglect, sexual assault or domestic violence.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement methodologies and experience in initiating and implementing changes to improve clinical service delivery and outcomes.
About the Role:

Central Coast is comprised of the twin areas of Gosford and Wyong, positioned between Sydney and Newcastle. The Local Health District has strong connections with both Royal North Shore Hospital and the University of Newcastle.
