Job Title:

A portfolio recovery manager position that oversees asset remarketing and loss recovery performance across portfolios in Australia and New Zealand.

The job involves developing business strategies to maximize profitability, minimizing write-offs and losses while driving best-in-class compliance and quality.

  • Drive auction partners to achieve optimal sale prices on repossessed assets and monitor operating lease inspections, invoicing, and returns.
  • Manage the direction and performance of teams to key stakeholders.
  • Oversee returns and excess charges for operating lease products, including standard, EVP, and rental.
  • Maintain relationships with retailer & brand partners, manage return processes, and support digitization efforts.
  • Deliver efficiency gains and productivity improvements netting FTE savings or increasing return on FTE.
  • Develop and deliver against key focus areas, including sales performance, stock levels, valuation accuracy, cure rates, net cost of risk, write-offs, and managing external vendors.

To succeed in this role, you will have a strong interest in the automotive sector, industry knowledge focusing within finance, insurance, and banking, and experience leading multi-function teams with direct reports.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' leadership experience with 5+ direct reports.
  • Strong knowledge of credit protection, hire purchase act, privacy act & debt collection guidelines.
  • Understanding of the motor vehicle finance industry and used vehicle market.
  • Demonstrated success in employee engagement and customer experience.
  • Sound knowledge of bankruptcy/liquidation requirements and legal procedures.
  • Experience as a change manager driving efficiencies, digitization, and process improvements.
  • Success coaching, mentoring, and employee development skills.
  • Strong understanding of SLA management (external & internal).
