Job Overview

This is an exceptional opportunity to join our team as a Senior Building Estimator. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in interpreting scope of works provided by consultants, estimating costs for building re-instatement works, and ensuring all work conforms to legislative and contractual OH&S requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret scope of works provided by consultants to ensure accurate estimates.
  • Attend sites to estimate costs for building re-instatement works.
  • Write scope of works documents when required to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors to achieve set budgets and meet project deadlines.
  • Bulk and leverage existing relationships with key personnel in the insurance industry to drive business growth.
  • Liaise with clients and insurers to provide updates and resolve any issues that may arise during projects.
  • Coordinate access to properties with insured parties to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Liaise with and engage sub-contractors during quotation stage to ensure competitive pricing and timely completion.
Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development. Requirements:
  • Previous estimating experience is essential for this role.
  • A building trade or construction qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • An insurance building background is essential, while remedial building experience is ideal but not necessary.
  • You must be able to manage multiple priorities effectively, maintain excellent organisational and time management skills, and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Familiarity with OHS practices, legislation, and regulations, as well as current market rates and trades, is also required.
  • A current motor vehicle license is essential for this role.
