About the Role

We are seeking an experienced barista who is friendly and compassionate, and enjoys working with older adults. As a member of our cafe team, you will deliver exceptional coffee and food service within a residential aged care setting.

You will work collaboratively to ensure that residents and their families receive the highest quality experience every time. Your responsibilities will include preparing the cafe for daily operations, checking and replenishing stock, taking and preparing orders for customers, managing order preparation to minimize wait times, presenting all items with finesse, and cleaning between meals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the cafe for the day's trade by setting up equipment and supplies.
  • Check and replenish stock as needed to maintain optimal levels.
  • Take and prepare orders for customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage the preparation of orders to minimize wait times and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Present all items with a level of finesse and in line with chef instructions.
  • Clean in between meals, wipe down tables, and clear dirty plates and trays.
  • Close down the cafe at the end of each day.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated empathy and commitment to the care and well-being of older adults.
  • Ability to demonstrate kindness and empathy across all interactions.
  • Police check clearance.
  • Up-to-date vaccination as required by legislation or industry best practice.
