Team Leader – Workforce Controller
V/Line is a leading rail operator, delivering services to millions of Victorians. As a Team Leader – Workforce Controller, you will play a crucial role in managing our workforce and ensuring the smooth delivery of train services.
This position is responsible for leading a team of workforce controllers, managing rosters, and providing reporting on staff movement trends and training to support train services. You will identify trends, problem-solve with the team, and implement sustainable solutions for consistent and repeatable results.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Workforce Controller team to ensure daily and short-term rostering of Drivers supports V/Line's delivery objectives
- Ensuring rosters are prepared in line with rostering and rail safety principles to manage fatigue
- Striving for continuous improvement opportunities, including maintaining compliance to relevant legislation, procedures, and process improvements
- Engaging with internal stakeholders to support planned service changes, including Occupations, Special Events, and Public Holidays
- Providing coverage of the Workforce Controller position as required to ensure seamless delivery of V/Line services
About You
You are an experienced people leader with large-scale rostering experience in a related industry (rail, fleet cars, airlines, trams, etc.). You are organised, methodical, and take a forward-planning approach to your work. You are looking to take the next step in your career and constantly seek process improvement opportunities to benefit you and the organisation.
Our ideal candidate will have:
• Large-scale rostering experience in a related industry (trams, fleet cars, airlines, rail, etc.)
• Forward planner with experience managing multiple business requirements simultaneously
• Experienced people leader or demonstrate people leadership qualities
• Looks for process improvement and innovation opportunities
• Maintains a high attention to detail

V/Line offers a dynamic environment, collaborative team, and flexible working arrangements. Salary for this role commences at $138k base plus superannuation.
