About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the preparation and cooking process, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish served.

  • You will collaborate with our management team to create menus that incorporate seasonal ingredients and balance budget constraints.
  • Supervise the kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to ensure they meet the highest standards of food preparation and presentation.
  • Liaise with suppliers to maintain optimal stock levels and implement efficient inventory management systems.
  • Monitor storage conditions and manage the preservation of ingredients to ensure food safety and compliance with regulations.
  • Contribute to cost management by estimating food and labor expenses and optimizing kitchen operations.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate IV or higher qualification in Cookery, with formal training in the Australian culinary industry. You should have solid understanding of Japanese food and experience in preparing and serving Omakase. Prior experience in a restaurant environment is essential, with experience in a Japanese food setting being highly desirable.

A competitive salary of $80,000 - $100,000 per annum is on offer, depending on your level of experience. This is a full-time position, and you must hold a valid full-time working visa.
