Electrical Automation Specialist

Improve the efficiency of dairy production processes by identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope and develop assigned projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

Develop project specifications, estimate costs, and prepare capital expenditure requests to support the successful implementation of projects.

Engage stakeholders to facilitate the execution of projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence.

Source equipment suppliers and installation contractors, manage procurement, and negotiate contracts to optimize project outcomes.

Manage contractors' work on site, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and procedures.

Oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget parameters.

Prepare progress reports and provide insights to inform financial decision-making.

You will have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics, or equivalent trade certification.
  • Proven commitment to safety and willingness to promote a culture of safety excellence.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical installation standards and regulations.
  • Experience in designing and specifying electrical and automation projects, tendering, and evaluating contractor proposals.
  • Previous experience managing external contractors and systems integrators, supervising electrical installation works, and plant commissioning.

Desirable:

  • Proficiency in industrial automation software, including Ignition and Sepasoft MES modules.
  • Experience working with SQL databases and Python scripting.
  • Competency in Siemens PLC programming packages, including Step 7 classic and TIA Portal.
  • Experience working with Allen Bradley Rslogix500 and Studio5000 packages.
  • Knowledge of ProfiNet and Ethernet/IP protocols.
  • Experience with configuration and commissioning of Variable Speed Drives.
  • Understanding of batching systems and ISA-88 methodologies.
  • Designing and commissioning of ASI and IO link systems.
  • Familiarity with best practices for electrical installations in food industry environments.
  • Project management experience.
