Key Responsibilities

This is a unique opportunity to use your financial expertise to directly support the creation of Australia's best journalism as a strategic finance partner.

You will be responsible for managing and controlling the entire editorial cost base, with a specific focus on staff and content-related expenses.

The successful candidate will lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for all editorial cost centers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to editorial leaders, providing clear, actionable financial insights.

What You Will Bring:

  • A strong background in finance or commercial accounting, with relevant qualifications such as CA/CPA.
  • Proven business partnering skills, including the ability to build trust and translate financial concepts for non-finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to liaise with senior stakeholders.
  • Expertise in core financial processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and month-end reporting.
  • Experience in media/publishing, managing staff costs, and using systems such as D365, TM1, SAP, or Tableau is highly desirable.
