About the Role

Key Responsibilities
  1. System Administration: Set up and maintain administrator and service accounts, as well as system documentation.
  2. System Performance Tuning: Optimize system performance to ensure efficient operation.
  3. Software Installation: Install system-wide software and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure.
  4. Storage Management: Allocate mass storage space and ensure data security.
  5. Server and Application Support: Provide support and maintenance for our extensive server platform and related applications.
  6. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilize enterprise-wide monitoring platforms to identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with business technology groups to administer, support, and manage existing infrastructure deployments and functions.
  8. Agile Sprints and Testing: Participate in agile sprints and provide user representation during testing.
  9. Change Management: Support Change Management activities and ensure smooth transition of solutions into production and operational use.
  10. Documentation and Training: Develop plans, procedures, work instructions, manuals, and other technical documentation for use by personnel.
  11. Team Collaboration: Liaise with other teams through delivery and escalation processes of the team's tasks.
  12. Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Plan, monitor, and report on progress of activities within your team's assigned work packages.
Requirements
  1. Server, Desktop, and Active Directory Administration: Working experience in server, desktop, and active directory administration and support in a medium-to-large scale environment, preferably in the public or defence sector.
  2. Multi-Domain/Active Directory User Environment: Comparable amount of experience administering a multi-domain/Active Directory user environment over a wide area TCP/IP network.
  3. Windows Active Directory and Related Technologies: Experience with Windows Active Directory and other related technologies such as DHCP, DNS, etc.
  4. Networking, Storage, and Backup: Networking, storage, and backup experience.
Desirable Skills
  1. Modern Server Hardware Concepts: Solid understanding of modern server hardware concepts with knowledge of VCE vBlock, NetApp, EMC, and Cisco hardware an advantage.
  2. SCCM, SCOM, SharePoint, EMC Networker: Experience with SCCM, SCOM, SharePoint, EMC Networker.
  3. Citrix VDI Deployments and McAfee Products: Experience with Citrix VDI deployments and the integration with McAfee products.
  4. ITIL Foundation v3 Certified: ITIL Foundation v3 certified.
  5. Virtualization Technologies: Experience with virtualization technologies including VMware management suite.
  6. SharePoint Power User: SharePoint Power User experience.
