Position Overview
Reporting directly to the General Manager of Merchandise and Marketing, the Category Managers will take charge of specific product categories. This crucial position entails the development and execution of category strategies aimed at optimizing product selection, pricing, and promotional initiatives to boost sales and profitability. Collaboration with suppliers, marketing departments, and store operations will be vital for the success of each category.
Key Responsibilities:
Formulate and execute detailed category strategies that align with the organization's growth ambitions. Enhance product selection, pricing models, and promotional tactics to maximize revenue and profitability. Build and maintain robust relationships with suppliers to improve product range, quality, trading conditions, and financial benefits. Assess market dynamics and consumer behavior to create informed category plans. Work closely with internal teams to ensure the successful implementation of category strategies across all retail locations. Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a degree and have relevant experience in Category or Merchandise Management within a dynamic retail setting. Experience in managing fresh or grocery categories is highly preferred. A strong capability to derive insights and develop data-driven category management strategies that enhance sales, revenue, and profit, along with a passion for fostering strong commercial relationships with suppliers, is essential for this role.
