About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Automation Specialist to join our team at Auto & General. As an Automation Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining consistency and usability of online systems via ongoing Automated testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain automation frameworks along with supporting documentation.
  • Develop and execute automated test cases for highly complex financial services applications.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that provide automated and timely feedback on quality of our applications.
  • Be a key contributor in Test Community of Practice, sharing and introducing advancements and better practices in test automation.
  • Work with Functional Test Analysts to ensure high risk areas have adequate coverage with automated tests.
  • Help establish and refine risk-assessed test strategies for application and API testing.
  • Champion an Automation First approach to testing, while working with developers and test analysts to achieve this.
  • Provide on-call assistance as required.

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years of experience as an automation engineer.
  • Demonstrated sound communication skills, including with technical staff, end-users, and management.
  • Demonstrated experience in SoapUI, Postman, Selenium Java Web Driver, Cucumber, and headless browsers is preferable.
  • Experience with Bitbucket and Bamboo.
  • Experience building/extending automated test frameworks.
  • Demonstrated sound skills in problem-solving, time, and resource management, and have the ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Pragmatic and resilient to change.
