Emergency Response Communications Specialist

Job Summary:
The Radio Communication Specialist provides critical communication services to emergency responders, dispatching them efficiently and effectively in accordance with established operational procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
- Receive and respond to calls from the public and other agencies
- Dispatch emergency responders quickly and accurately, exercising sound judgement and discretion
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, managing workload pressures and stressful situations
- Stay up-to-date with emergency response operations, services provided, and local geography/demography
- Maintain confidentiality obligations at all times
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Well-developed radio/telephone communication skills, preferably in emergency services or similar environments
- Ability to make rapid decisions in crisis situations, exercising sound judgement and discretion
- Excellent teamwork skills, including ability to manage workload pressures and stressful situations
- Able to acquire knowledge of emergency response operations and services provided, as well as local geography/demography
- A thorough understanding of confidentiality obligations
