As a key liaison with the School and University's administrative functions, the Department Manager represents the Head of Department and plays a vital role in ensuring the department runs efficiently. This involves providing expert advice to senior leaders and department staff, as well as managing budgets, infrastructure, and administrative systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-level leadership and operational management
  • Representing the Head of Department and acting as the key liaison with the School and University's administrative functions
  • Supporting academic staff, enhancing research and learning outcomes, and ensuring effective resource allocation, staff workload oversight, and compliance with policies and legislation
  • Managing budgets, infrastructure, and administrative systems
  • Delivering expert advice to senior leaders and department staff
