Design Manager Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Design Manager to join our team. In this junior-mid level role, you will work closely under a senior mentor, gaining exposure to large-scale outcomes and playing a key role in design coordination, documentation, and consultant management.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Senior Design Manager in coordinating design documentation and consultant outputs.
  • Manage day-to-day design queries and ensure documentation aligns with project requirements.
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design challenges quickly.
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide clear communication across all stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail.


About You
  • 3-5 years' experience in design management or coordination, ideally on Class 2 residential or shopping centre projects.
  • Strong documentation and coordination skills (Revit, AutoCAD, or similar exposure a plus).
  • Enthusiastic, detail-focused, and collaborative – someone who takes ownership of their role while supporting senior leadership.
  • Based in Newcastle (or surrounds) and open to occasional travel to the North Coast for project requirements.
  • Motivated to learn and develop under a senior mentor – not looking for a step-up to a senior role.
