About The Role

We're seeking a motivated Design Manager to join the team, working closely under a highly experienced Senior Design Manager. This is a junior-mid level role - ideal for someone with solid technical grounding and niche project experience who thrives on detail, collaboration, and contributing to large-scale outcomes.

You'll be working on Class 2 residential and shopping centre projects valued up to $40 million, playing a key role in design coordination, documentation, and consultant management while gaining exposure to some of the region's most significant developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Design Manager in coordinating design documentation and consultant outputs.
• Manage day-to-day design queries and ensure documentation aligns with project requirements.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve design challenges quickly.
• Ensure designs comply with NSW Class 2 building regulations and industry standards.
• Provide clear communication across all stakeholders while keeping attention to detail front of mind.
  
  

About You

• 3-5 years' experience in design management or coordination, ideally on Class 2 residential or shopping centre projects.
• Strong documentation and coordination skills (Revit, AutoCAD, or similar exposure a plus).
• Enthusiastic, detail-focused, and collaborative -someone who takes ownership of their role while supporting senior leadership.
• Based in Newcastle (or surrounds) and open to occasional travel to the North Coast for project requirements.
• Motivated to learn and develop under a senior mentor -not looking for a step-up senior role.
