Security Specialist, Facility Protection

Our organization is seeking an experienced Security Specialist to manage the protection of our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in security design and implementation, with expertise in access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and CCTV surveillance systems.

The Security Specialist will oversee the physical security design and installation for new data centers, data center expansions, and special projects. This includes managing vendor on-boarding, bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, budget, change orders, and close-out documentation.

The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals to ensure the highest standards of safety and security are maintained at all times. They will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to integrate business and operations requirements into long-term physical security design and implementation.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of security construction and equipment committee (SCEC) physical security requirements. They will be able to identify risks, ask the right questions, and provide recommendations and solutions to support the success of the project.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in physical security design and system installation for new data centers, data center expansions, and special projects.
  • Providing physical security project lifecycle management including bid packages, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor management, budget, change orders, and close-out documentation.
  • Managing vendor on-boarding, Request For Proposal / Request For Quote bidding, contracting, contract execution, QA/QC, and support processes.
  • Effectively and accurately managing multi-million dollar security project budgets.
  • Leading physical security team acceptance, sign-off, and operational readiness validation for high-security facilities.
