About the Office of the National Data Commissioner

The Office of the National Data Commissioner (ONDC) is responsible for implementing the DATA Scheme, a new best practice scheme for sharing Australian Government data, underpinned by strong safeguards and simplified, efficient processes.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking candidates for an exciting opportunity to join the ONDC and work closely with partners within and outside the APS to help shape new opportunities to safely and securely share Australian Government data for public benefit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster partnerships within and outside of government to provide advice and guidance on data sharing opportunities and regulate the Scheme.
  • Assess applications from participating entities against a range of expected characteristics, including data management and governance policies and practices, ability to minimize the risk of unauthorized access or use, and skills and capability of staff.
  • Work collaboratively across teams in the ONDC to provide seamless and holistic advice to stakeholders.
