Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and oversee all electrical engineering projects and activities within the mining and preparation plant, ensuring compliance with relevant safety and health regulations.
  2. Provide expert technical guidance and support to various stakeholders to facilitate effective decision-making.
  3. Foster strong collaborative relationships across the site to ensure alignment of work plans with business objectives, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  4. Develop, supervise, and regularly review electrical engineering standards and procedures as part of the overall health and safety management framework.
  5. Supervise the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment.
  6. Establish and manage both operational and capital budgets related to all electrical functions across the mining operations.
  7. Ensure that production and infrastructure equipment is maintained according to established maintenance standards and procedures.
  8. Appoint qualified personnel to manage specific functions within their designated areas.
  9. Implement effective standards for statutory inspections and maintain clear communication through regular briefings and debriefings.
  10. Ensure adherence to the site’s Health and Safety Management System.
  11. Engage with regulatory bodies regarding any significant events and develop plans for operational resumption as necessary.
  12. Monitor and provide input on key performance indicators to enhance overall operational performance.

Work Schedule: This position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, with opportunities for residential employees to salary sacrifice a portion of their rental payments.

Candidate Profile:

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity within a coal mining environment.
  2. Possess a current Electrical Engineering Manager certification and practicing certificate, along with relevant electrical trade qualifications.
  3. A post-trade engineering qualification is highly desirable.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive safety culture.
  5. Training in risk assessment facilitation is advantageous.
  6. Strong leadership capabilities.
  7. ICAM or similar investigation training is preferred.
  8. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems, particularly SAP and Microsoft Project, is highly desirable.
  9. A solid understanding of Master Data management, including task list creation and maintenance planning, is preferred.
