
Aboriginal Community Support Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead the development and implementation of our new initiative, Kanyjaru Ngarnarna Wapa. This exciting role will involve collaborating with stakeholders to create a safe and supportive environment for women and children in Port Hedland.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with vulnerable populations and a passion for improving employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. As a Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing programs to support the safety and wellbeing of women and children
- Collaborating with local communities, organizations, and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
- Providing guidance and support to colleagues and community members to ensure a trauma-informed approach
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, as well as current issues affecting Aboriginal children, young people, and families
- An appropriate qualification in human services, social work, or equivalent experience and skills
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of family and domestic violence frameworks and practice
