The Senior Environmental Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring environmental approvals for operational projects across Energy and Lithium.
This position ensures continuity of project delivery and secures regulatory approvals for onsite development activities, working closely with internal stakeholders to obtain project information.
Key responsibilities include assisting with and undertaking Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and approvals processes, developing Execution Plans and schedules, and coordinating operational approvals projects.
- Assist with EIA and approvals processes to ensure timely delivery of regulatory approvals.
- Develop Execution Plans and schedules based on available resources.
- Coordinate and manage operational approvals projects, including scoping technical studies and surveys.
In this critical role, the successful candidate will have extensive experience in environmental operational roles within the mining sector, a comprehensive understanding of environmental legislation, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Responsibilities also include reviewing project documentation against policy and guidelines, preparing environmental approval applications, and managing consultants to conduct environmental studies.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science / Engineering or related field.
- Extensive experience in environmental operational roles within the mining sector.
- Comprehensive understanding and ability to interpret environmental legislation and policy.
- Demonstrated experience providing strategic and operational environmental advice.
- Ability to work within large multi-disciplinary teams and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
