Sheet Metal Apprentice

We offer a unique opportunity to develop skills in metal trades through our 4-year TAFE-based apprentice program.

This role involves learning and mastering various skills, including operating roll forming machines, assembling duct work using hand tools and air-operated hammer tools, sealing duct with sealer, and reading construction drawings. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment and assisting in loading trucks of duct.

  • Operating equipment such as Pittsburgh, 8mm male, Slide machine, Power flange, Channel machine, TDF, and other machinery used for duct work and component manufacturing
  • Assembling and installing duct work using hand tools and power tools
  • Sealing duct with sealer and using power swage machines and spot welders
  • Reading and understanding construction drawings and utilizing CNC water jet cutter for insulation
  • CNC laser cutting and full duct coil line operation
  • Loading supplies needed to cut each job and operating forklifts in duct storage

You will also be required to:

  • Keep the shop clean by sweeping floors as needed
  • Assist in loading trucks of duct and work well in a team environment
  • Demonstrate a dedicated work ethic and willingness to learn new skills
