Job Title: Energy Solutions Engineer


We are currently seeking an experienced Energy Solutions Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key part in designing, implementing and maintaining site energy networks that support our operations in dynamic and remote environments.


About the Role

This role involves designing new energy networks for sites across Australia Pacific in line with company standards and cybersecurity protocols. You will assist with the deployment and commissioning of new energy infrastructure, including travel to site as needed.


You will be responsible for maintaining and administering energy networks – managing patches, firmware, SCADA updates, and daily configurations. Additionally, you will perform and verify network backups, and support disaster recovery operations.


Troubleshoot energy hardware, software, and operating system issues, and assist with hardware replacements. Monitor and optimize network performance, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, VLANs, and firewalls.


Maintain accurate network documentation – including diagrams and site-specific configuration records. Audit site networks for compliance, identity management, and operational integrity.


Provide insights to management on operational risks and network-related threats impacting performance.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience with SCADA technologies and energy network infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN systems, routing, VPNs, VLANs, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with energy cybersecurity practices and backup/disaster recovery procedures.

Exposure to industrial protocols like Modbus TCP, IEC 61850, or OPC is advantageous. Solid documentation and system design skills using common tools and platforms are essential.


Experience in engineering, ICT, or utilities sectors is preferred.
