Senior Clinical Specialist, Structural Heart

Medtronic's Structural Heart Business is a fast-growing unit that offers minimally invasive approaches to restore heart valve function. As a Senior Clinical Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing technical and clinical excellence to implanters and clinical stakeholders to achieve sales revenue and share targets.

This position involves assisting Clinical Territory Managers with customer service and support, practicing territory management, and executing on agreed actions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with Clinical Territory Managers to understand customer needs and provide high-level clinical service and technical support.
  • Supporting Clinical Territory Managers in promoting and selling defined Medtronic products and services to key specialists and technical staff.
  • Participating in quarterly business reviews and business planning with the team.
  • Managing case coverage requirements for the state with Clinical Territory Managers and other Clinical Specialists.
  • Supporting sales and marketing programs with specific activities provided by the Marketing team.
  • Providing technical in-services, presentations, and training to specified customers.
  • Practicing effective communication by feeding back information regarding commercial and clinical opportunities and intelligence.
  • Consistently setting and meeting quarterly performance goals.
  • Supporting Territory Managers with inventory control and expedited delivery of stock to customers.
  • Supporting clinical study activities with Territory Manager and the Clinical Research team.
  • Ensuring the highest level of product knowledge is attained and maintained.
  • Monitoring field inventory to ensure appropriate levels of inventory in each location relative to demand.
  • Completing cycle counts of all required field locations on time and following up on any missing stock.
  • Retrieving expiring product from field locations and returning to the warehouse prior to expiry.

Requirements include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing qualifications, general science degree, or similar.
  • At least 2 years' experience as a Clinical Specialist or equivalent technical medical experience.
  • Successful completion of Blueprint II training.
  • Comprehensive clinical and technical knowledge, including clinical papers and skillful questioning.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the SH Clinical Offering.
  • Strong clinical and business relationships with customers.
  • Advanced understanding of internal workings of hospital labs, theatres, and departments.
  • Computer literacy, including sound knowledge of the MS Office suite of software.
  • Maintaining a valid driver's license.
